Meet the Team

Having the right team is the key to a successful destination management company and the right team can be found at Custom Ireland. Diversity is central to its make up with each member bringing different skills, attitudes and experiences to the company. This is reflected in the service provided to our clients and our ability to understand their varying needs.

Starting with the directors and founders of Custom Ireland, Crothur Murphy and Fiona O'Sullivan and you will find combined experience in the tourism industry stretching over thirty years with both directors bringing their own personalities to the team.

FIONA O'SULLIVAN - DIRECTOR

Fiona's journey began as a national tour guide in Ireland and she is passionate about her country. Motivated by her ability to offer a visiting group something special, something different, she can create the very best travel programme for both the leisure and business traveller. As an active member of SITE, Society of Incentive and Travel Executives, and as Vice-President of the ITOA, the Irish Tour Operators Association, Fiona is both dedicated to the industry and her team at Custom Ireland.

Crothur's emphasise on client relationships has ensured that Custom Ireland enjoys strong, long term relationships with many corporate clients such as Guinness USA and DIAGEO. His attention to detail and ‘can do' attitude ensures that, not only do his travel programmes meet client expectations, but often exceed them. A keen golfer, Crothur has an in-depth knowledge of Ireland's golf courses and can select the perfect course for individual clients or group members.

Asked why Ireland is a great travel destination, Crothur said "It has everything that defines a world class destination. With the appropriate itinerary, Ireland is unbeatable."

PATRICIA DUFFY - OPERATIONS MANAGER patricia_duffy2.jpg (Patricia Duffy2)

Patricia is a graduate from the Bsc in Tourism Marketing, Dublin Institute of Technology and after travelling the world, joined Custom Ireland at the beginning of 2004. Patricia's extensive knowledge of Ireland allows her to guide her clients on trails and adventures around the country making sure that their itinerary is tailored specifically to their needs. Working with both the leisure and business markets the one thing her clients continuously remark on, is the benefit of her personal touch to their programmes.

Due to Trish's love of scuba diving Connemara and the Killary Fjord/Leenan would have to be her favourite spot in Ireland. Of course she adds that there is nothing quite as rewarding as a hot whiskey in the local pub after a day spent with the "fishes" in the clear, cold waters of the Atlantic.

Passionate about food, he has the ability to choose the best and most suitable restaurants and incorporate them into any travel programme. As a keen tennis player and long distance runner, Ken's energy is evident in the creation and execution of all Custom Ireland created travel and event programmes.

MARK KELLY - I.T. & OPERATIONS mark.jpg (mark)

Although Mark is Custom Ireland’s dedicated I.T. person he cannot be classified solely by this one field of expertise. With a degree in Computer Software, Mark is the ‘go to guy’ for the less computer-minded office geniuses as well as the brains behind updated office systems, slick client presentations, and website design. With much of the world already travelled before joining the team he also lends himself well to work in the operations side of business.

A born and bred Dubliner, Mark names Ireland's capital as his favourite part of Ireland, and as a sociable character, with an ear to the ground, Mark knows the city’s social scene inside out. His ultimate Dublin experience involves "wandering the streets on a sunny day in search of Dublin’s best Guinness and some good auld fashioned craic!"

LOUISE CANAVAN - OPERATIONS louise_canavan_1.jpg (Louise Canavan 1)

Having completed her degree in Corporate Law with German at NUI, Galway in 2006 Louise headed for Dublin on the lookout for a job with a difference. Truth be known she did not quite expect the love affair that would begin upon stumbling across Custom Ireland! Now well ensconsed in operations, dealing with both incentive and leisure travel, she has successfully been honing her skills with a number of large group tours and incentives now under her belt.

When asked to comment on Ireland's 'best bits' Louise can't but help mention THE WEST, her native place, where Galway city with its fond memories of university life coupled with laid-back atmosphere, cultural offerings and seascape, put it at the top of her list.
