The European Club features exciting links golf through tumbling dunes with dramatic views of the Irish Sea from no fewer than six- teen of the holes. The Irish Golf Institute ranking of Ireland's 30-Greatest Golf courses of the 20th Century ranked the links 5th. The Golfers Companion worldwide poll to nominate the Worlds 100 Greatest Golf Courses of the 20th Century ranked the European Club at 24th. Golf Magazine, in collaboration with ten other international golf magazines, nominated The 500 Greatest Golf Holes in The World and included three holes from the links of the European Club.
