Doonbeg Golf Club is designed along the towering dunes on a crescent of Ireland's famed south western shore between Lahinch and Ballybunion. Greg Norman says, 'This is the best piece of property I have seen anywhere in the world'. The course plays along 1.5 miles of beach and dunes. The ocean is visible from the green, fairway, or tee on 16 of the 18 holes. The par 72 layout features a single loop of nine holes out and nine back. It plays 6,885yds from the back tees. It has been designed around the 15th hole, a magnificent par four of 440 yards to a funnel-shaped green surrounded by the highest dunes on the course.
